Right. So if that's legit, then we'd want to find the controller, so obviously it's going to be somewhere we can't get to yet. Maybe one of the construction zones, or... the student conduct office? That's where they said the expelled students go, right?

Yeah, there are things like that in my world, too. But it's the whole setup that makes it like a game. The whole thing was ripped right from one of the most popular fighting games out there - it's called Super Smash. Those platforms were exactly like one of the stages, too.

Makes sense. Still - I don't know if we'll find what they use to do it just by searching around.

No, that would be too easy. If it's anything like home, we'll get the runaround. Maybe have to solve a few puzzles, fight a few monsters, and barely escape with our lives before we can come up with anything useful.

It's probably better, here, not to have a normal life.

Well - yeah, but it'd be nice to know that someone out there isn't in life-threatening situations all the time. Besides, there's no reason for something like this to happen again.

For what reason are you in life-threatening situations all the time? For me, it is that I am foolish and willingly choose to wander into them.

Goddesses with grudges, trying to help my friends, monsters that want to eat me, stupid life choices, prophecies, existing... Take your pick, we've got options.

Yeah, I'd hope at least one of those would count for all of us. I'm not ready to have an existential crisis cherry on top of the miserable cake just yet.

Well, there's existing, and then there's existing as a draw for dangerous and terrible things. . .

...You know, I really feel like there should be someone out there who's from a regular, totally normal life, but all of us being isekaied kind of negates that, doesn't it.

Yeah, when you get transported to another world. An isekai. That's basically what this whole thing is.

An isekai. I haven't heard that term before. Good to know.

Yeah, well, hopefully you won't need it more than this one time. Isekais usually mean trouble for the main character, and I'm guessing that's all of us right now.
