[ ...Oh. Well, that’s great. Just what he wanted - to talk about how he’d gotten possessed again.

Dude, I am the definition of freaky. Look it up in the dictionary and you’ll see my picture right there. You can tell that to all the ladies.

Yeah, but that could be said of me and Jason, too. Like the freaky elemental trio or something.

[ and he sounds flippant enough, like hey, no big deal, right? ]

[ Nope, nope, nope. Maybe he’d talk about this seriously with Piper or Jason, but not Percy Jackson, legend of Camp Half-Blood. He hardly even knows you, dude. ]

See, this is where Piper would say something like, “He’s too annoying for permanent damage.”

[ He doesn’t know, Percy. It doesn’t feel like there’s anything, but Leo doesn’t know. That’s the thing about this possession stuff - you can’t really tell until it turns you against your friends at the worst possible moment. He only hopes it’s over for good. ]

[ Percy doesn't need the downlow; just checking in on everyone to make sure they're in one piece, chill dude! ]

Piper and I were talking about doing a game of capture the flag with everyone, uh- Not demigod style, though, since Rachel is a mortal and we want to keep it fun and not... dangerous.

[ Aw, heck yeah, a distraction! And a fun one, too. ]

Dude, that would be sweet! But just to be clear, by “everyone,” do you mean everyone everyone, or all of us from camp? ‘Cause we might have a harder time keeping everyone in line if it’s more than us.

[ Even with just them, the possibility stands. Demigods have a tendency to go overboard, sometimes literally. ]

No way, not everyone everyone, I think that'd be way too big of a game to organize right now. Everyone from camp, plus Thalia.

[ but now that the thought is there- ]

Maybe if this works out we can do one that's everyone everyone.

[ He laughs. ] Good. That would be awesome! But don’t the Hunters always kick your butt?

[ Leo has heard things, Percy. He knows. ]

So! Apparently there's this shindig going on, right? And everybody from either court can mingle and there's food and drinks and we're supposed to wear masks, but. I also heard there's dancing? Like there's going to be a ball, or- I don't know- Anyway.

Have you heard about that? Any plans yet?

Yeah, I heard about that! I've been thinking we needed a good party.

My plans are to go and rock it - show these fairies how demigods get down!

[ since pretty much everybody else in their not-so-little group is already paired off, it just makes sense. it's logical. plus maybe she just really likes hanging out with Leo okok ]

[ He laughs. ] Who doesn’t want a designated dance partner? I’m totally down for that!

[ And here he thought he’d be the lone one among the demigods. All the more reason to make his costume suitably awesome! ]

Yeah, but there's plenty of seasoned capture the flag players in Seelie, I think we could do it. Not like everyone would want to play. At least... I hope not, because yikes.

[ he doesn't even want to consider organizing the entire court into the game- ]

[ Jason’s older sister is a bamf - don’t you know that? ]

Dude, that would be a disaster, [ he says, laughing. ] Do you think Solais and Ridire would want to play, too? One for each team? [ Because, disaster or not, that would be awesome. ]

We should ask at the next royal audience. Ask them if they want to come out and be team captains for us or something, I bet they'd have a blast. [ a beat. ] That would be pretty funny, though. A King and Queen playing a camp game with a bunch of people.

Dude, I’ll totally ask if you don’t. They wouldn’t even have to play, just come up with the strategy or something. A little inner-court rivalry never hurt anyone, right?

[ thalia wasn't close to leo, not even a little. he was just jason's little, annoying friend. but still, she wanted to check on him. not only did she feel as though jason would want her too, but she knew what it was like to feel as though you'd lost best friends. ]
