[ while luke may not know who leo is or that he is currently in the drabwurld, george and martha do — and they've been keeping an eye on him for their good bud, hephaesteus. though he may not know of them at all, they slither away from luke with two stones turned to gold to leave outside his door. with snake teeth marks embedded into it, they had asked a fairy to write them a note — and it's in poor chicken scratch he'll read: ]

[ and if leo's to catch the fairy before she flutters away and inquire as to who it's from, she'll tell him the messenger of the gods, then hesitate and two snakes. ]

[ Ooooookay, this has to be filed under some of the weirdest gifts he's ever received - right up there with the Fortune Cookie of Doom. He does chase the little fairy to ask about it, and when he hears "messenger of the gods," he knows exactly where to go, even if the snake part throws him off a bit. He hasn't met the guy yet, but he's heard plenty about Luke Castellan from Percy and the others - son of Hermes, supposed villain and/or hero of the second Titan war that Leo had completely missed while he was busy running from foster homes. Guess it's time to formally introduce himself.

After asking where to go to find the other demigod, he leaves immediately, turning the two golden stones over in his hand anxiously. He has to wonder what prompted this, because he's done absolutely nothing to warrant it, if you ask him. What brought it on, and what the heck does "and two snakes" mean? With the note in his pocket, Leo stares at the door for a moment, and finally knocks. ]

[Leo may or may not be surprised to find a small package for him come Yule, but Hiro's having one delivered anyway. In the package is a bag of Christmas cookies he had somebody pick up for him from another part of the map. There's also a weird kind of tool and a bottle of Drabwurldian-style hot sauce. Because tacos.

There's also a note.

"Maybe you have one of these things in that magic toolbelt of yours, but figured you'd be the only other person to really appreciate it. Weird, right? Just don't use it against me. And obviously the hot sauce isn't for the cookies, but you never know.

[ she uses Thomas' cuff to take the route to the lake Leo built for them, arriving at the usual time, delivers a letter to him directly. she says nothing, but the symbol of the runners underneath the LV written on the front of the folded note makes it clear enough it's meant for him. she disappears before he can ask her anything, because nnnnope she's not ready to talk about this yet. ]

[When Leo gets a note, it'll be delivered by a very disgruntled pigeon. The letter is in an envelope with a specific set of runes written across the seal and the letter will only open for Leo. There are two pages. Instructions on how to replicate the runes should he want to send a note back, and the actual note. The handwriting might look familiar from his Yule note.]

[ It takes a few hours of internal debate for Leo to reply - is it really that smart to let the Unseelie in on this? To let them know he now has such a big a disadvantage? The Blessing of Hephaestus was his primary weapon, the chain used primarily to augment it in new ways.

But eventually, he decides he might as well. They'll find out sooner or later, no matter what, and Hiro... Leo wants to believe he can trust the kid. There isn't much to say, though, so he only gets a single word after Leo finally figures the whole thing out. ]
