I can eat if I want to! And I don't eat meat, no. I don't like how it tastes.

Well, lucky for you, my best friend is vegetarian so I'm always looking for those options, anyway. There are some out there, it's just a little harder to find.

Yes. Absolutely. Pipes can be a name if her dad wants it to be. He's rich, you know.

Pretty much. Like, there was this celebrity who named her kid Apple, and that's tame for some of them.

Well, Pipes' mom is the goddess of love. Jason's is the king of the gods, but like, Roman flavor. It's an important distinction because apparently Greek and Roman demigods aren't supposed to get along, and there's a whole war about to happen that kind of proves the point.

[ he says this very casually. ]

They're both amazing, though. Pipes has this power called charmspeak that means she could convince anyone of whatever she wanted to, and Jason - he's like the Superman of the crew. It's a bird - it's a plane - no, it's a flying Roman with lightning powers!

[Tsuyukusa doesn't even know where Greece or Rome are so he's just like nodding sure sure different versions of gods why not.]

So are all of your friends demigods or just the ones you're closest to?

Mostly, yeah. There are some satyrs and nymphs at camp, I guess, but I was busy building the ship, so I didn't get to hang out with them as much. We were kind of on a tight deadline.

Wait, you had to build an entire ship yourself?

And no, I wasn't totally on my own - the rest of Cabin Nine helped out. But I had to work around the clock, and we still barely finished it in time.
