Well, weapons, I guess. My ship, but I had some help with that. Automatons are more up my alley, and things like our phones, the library computers, and UTVs. Those are all mechanic things.
So, technology. [ hmmm ] That could be quite useful. If this place really is as void of magic and relies more on advanced science, then maybe those skills could pay off.
I think this place might have a little of both. The problem is, the tech here is pretty limited. The computers in the library don't actually connect to much, and I don't have the tools to hack into the phones. The UTVs are easy enough to hotwire or take apart, but I haven't figured out how that would help us yet.
[ He's desperately doing his best to follow along. ]
I... see. I'd still keep it in mind, though I feel like all we can ever say is that there's still too much we don't know. But we have no answers on when we'll actually know enough to do something.
Either that, or a way to try and help pinpoint a murderer. The hard part is figuring out exactly how to do that, if people really are getting teleported out of the dorms. And with all of us doing investigations on Friday mornings, basic things like door traps or trip wires won't do much good.
We did talk about something like that in the first week - like a CCTV. But I can't build it without the right equipment, and that would probably take more vouchers that I don't have.
That is the biggest problem. Even if we all get our powers back, we still don't have the materials or equipment to do what we want just yet. I can't make a CCTV or a camera out of nothing, you know?
And we could theoretically set up our phones in strategic places, but there's no guarantee they'll capture anything, or save what they do find before the batteries die.
Like a motion sensor? Yeah, if we could get one that would be simple enough to set up. The issue then would be figuring out where to put them, since this campus is always expanding and people are getting teleported out or whatever - but the field always seems like the place to be on Thursday nights, so maybe there.

It's not like I haven't been thinking about it, but the best I've got right now would be setting up some kind of traps.

[ Interesting. ]
That could work. Though you'd need to a few people to know where they are, and hope none of them turns out to be a killer.

Would you be able to build a surveillance system perhaps? Something that captures a photograph when triggered?

[ He sighs. ]
Our ideas aren't bad, but our resources are really limited.
