[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.

it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:

enter if you dare.

(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

[Lalli has already been Warned and will not be going near the haunted house.

But he will sit on the roof of Fall dorm and watch from a distance, waving to anyone who happens to look up and see him. He's still curious, so sue him.]

[Oh! It's Caleb!

Lalli waves again and then pulls out his phone to message Caleb.]

Kon told me not to go in, so I'm supporting you from a distance.

Really? Why not?

[silentscout]

He said the 'zombies' look too real. It's better to avoid any accidents.

[Lalli out here not wanting to commit a murder, it's not even Thursday night.]

[katzepaw]

I see. That's probably wise, yes.

[silentscout]

Yes. But I am cheering you on from a distance. Scare everyone thoroughly and make them cry.

[That's what you do at haunted houses right???]

[ sends lalli a selfie in full frankenstein makeup ]

you know, i'm actually not sure?
i guess it's just a fun monster color

It's a very bright monster color.

i mean it's supposed to be, like, a sickly looking green, but maybe the flash makes it look off

Oh I guess it does look kind of sickly.

What is it anyway? It doesn't look like a 'zombie'.

think more of a monster
this mad scientist decided to make a whole person to see what would happen
he ended up with this eight foot tall dude who was really fugly and couldn't people so he was, like, super emo about it

That explains the green.

[somehow, the lively activities at the haunted house have distracted lalli enough that he doesn't immediately notice an additional presence on the rooftop that's climbed up from behind

it's....really low effort ghost with too many eyes?

it's just standing there, still and staring in their direction—then, in a low, spooky voice:]

Booooooo........

[silentscout]

[Normally this would be very unscary. Like, Lalli would deadpan stare at Denji. But he's not paying attention and he doesn't have his 'sense dead things' powers, so he is caught off-guard.

Lalli immediately whips around and hunches up his back like a cat does when spooked. He doesn't hiss, but he has clearly been startled.]

[sawboned]

[after a moment, from under the sheet, the sound of a chainsaw being rip-started]

VRRMM BRUM-BRUM-BRRRRRRRRR

[the chainsaw emerges from underneath

the sheet ghost charges]

[silentscout]

[Lalli screams and dives off the roof.

He is now in a nearby tree, skittering along the branches like a scared cat.]

[denji stops at the edge of the roof, turning off the chainsaw and pulling up the sheet, laughing]

Hey! You alright down there?

Gotcha pretty good, huh?
