[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.

it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:

enter if you dare.

(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

Hey ghosts, it's ya girl, Maya!

[ she says that but she is afraid of ghosts and will absolutely get jumpscared ]

[there's the sound of like... creaking, when she enters. and when she's a few steps in, the door slams behind her and there's a laugh as footsteps go thud thud thudding away into the dark.]

[ oh...... ]

[ maya feels around for a couch to sit down on since she knows the layout of winter dorm.... usually ]

[she would if it were winter dorm... unfortunately it is just a housé behind winter dorm.

she can sit down though! there's a chair.

also something grabs her ankle.]

[ ok she's gonna sit in this chair ]

[ and shriek!! very loudly!!!! sorry about your ears, ghost ]

[well the ghost lets go, and maya can hear a familiar ow, fuck very quietly from behind her like, on the floor.

AND THEN SILENCE it's fine, we out here not breaking character too badly]

[ gasps dramatically ]

Beau! You're too young to die!!

Why are you haunting me? Do you need to be kissed back to life?!

[ where's otome ]

[there's just a groan in reply. this one is less ow i'm hungover and more definitely intentional, like the sound of the living dead...

it's also behind her and a little to the left, now. an arm flops out from under the chair, grasping wildly.]

[ kicks at the arm, shrieking again ]

Beau!!! I can fix this! I'll get the doctor!

[the worst part about this is it's just beau trying not to laugh

she lets out another UAUHHHHGHHHHHHKKKKHHH sound and pushes herself out from under the chair to try and grab at her ankles. she's - got like, really convincing zombie makeup on. incredible.]

[ maya flails pathetically with her leggies and somehow ends up in beau's arms because comedy ]

BEAUUUUU!! I DON'T HAVE ANY BRAINS!!!

[There's the sound, very quietly, of something following her in the dark. If she looks over her shoulder she may see movement just for a moment, but then it's gone.]

[ she is sitting in this chair ]

Um.. h-hello....? Ghosts?

[Well, she might have thought it was behind her, but suddenly it's on the other side of the room? Just a quick shape for a moment, and then it's gone.]

[ maya is whining in that really annoying way that dogs do ]

Ya girl Maya just wants to talk....

[Maya may notice that the strange shape in the darkness. . . looks like it has many legs. . . she can only see the outline of it briefly for a moment, but there's something insect-like about it.]

[ throws a half-eaten roll at it ]

[ but it's not a good throw ]

[It's a spider skittering out from the darkness. It's hit with a half-eaten roll and it. . . meows.

Not a spider exactly? (CW on that only if you are very afraid of things that are spider shaped).]

[ noooooooo frumpkin ]

[ but maya's dog instincts take over and she barks!! BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK ]

the sheet ghost charges]

[ ok now she's screaming for real ]

[ it's loud enough to render everyone deaf, frankly ]

[a fierce roar erupts from the sheetghost, and with chainsaw lifted high overhead, he runs straight at her!

depending on how much she has her shit together, maya may notice the chain's been removed for safety]
