[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.

it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:

enter if you dare.

(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

C-Claude?! I'm sorry - wait, should I be sorry? Are you part of the haunted house?

[DID WINTER DECIDE THAT CLAUDE WAS SCARY ENOUGH TO BE INCLUDED AMONG MONSTERS?]

[a spooky slam from further in the house makes her jump and yelp again]

Are you sure you want to go in, Iris?

[Caleb is here, dressed like a vampire (?)]

It is very spooky in there.

[well now this is a CHALLENGE she straightens her shoulders and huffs]

a sudden thud from inside makes her jump a little]

Be careful! Be mindful of the path you will return by - or else the strange illusions inside will trap you forever.

[SHE BUILD THIS HOUSÉ AND YET NOW SHE'S SUFFICIENTLY SCARED OF IT]

[ iris will be able to hear the creepy fucking laughter of children coming from the open door, after praising caleb.

caleb is doing great at building the atmosphere. ]

and then this horrible soundclip calls out ]

okay no she helped set this up so she's going to. straighten her shoulders and walk in.]

[ iris why are you doing this to yourself. ganbatte.

there's a yawning silence that greets her, at first, before the childish laughter and pitter patter of feet seems to come from different directions, until converging and heading further into the housé.

an ominous creaking of floorboards follows them, like something... heavier is pursuing unseen. ]

[wait - ]

Why are there children ghosts in here! That's too much!!

[NOW SHE'S JUST UPSET and will be walking more stubbornly because thINK OF THE CHILDREN]

[ can't believe iris would be one of those people that dies 45 minutes into a horror movie because they followed the demonic bait of children. amazing.

it's fine, she's been sufficiently lured in. somewhere, a chainsaw revs. maya is screaming? (did they record her? probably.) but there's a terrible, wet choking noise followed by something bristly and slightly damp brushing her ankle before skittering away into the fog. ]

[she would because iris would do literally anything for kids. she's very talented at throwing herself into dangerous situations and just expecting someone to cover for her.

a little like now.

which is why she just fucking shRIEKS when something brushes up against her ankle, making her do an antsy and frightened little dance to try to keep her feetsies safe]
