[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.

it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:

enter if you dare.

(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

[ now there are skittering sounds. something brushes against mabel's leg, rough and bristly, but by the time she looks - it's gone. ]

Oooh! Someone's getting a little handsy over here, huh? [ laughs ] That's okay, I'd be happy to be friends with you, weird crawly thing!

[ it makes a horrible grinding noise and runs right over her foot

there are scratching noises further in ]

[ she covers her ears at the noise because boy howdy is that unpleasant! she's still pretty upbeat about the whole thing though. ]

Haha hey! Don't do that, I'm ticklish!!

[ walks further in because self-preservation? don't know her ]

[ she is following this little creature now i guess? it continues to make that sound as it goes.

as she passes a curtain, something cold touches her arm. ]

[ tries to reach back and grab the cold thing!! ]

[ she may grab it.

it’s an arm. there is no body attached to it. ]

Why yes, I will hold your hand, you ha--hey!

[ shakes the arm around ] No fair! This is cheap tactics! Come out me and spook me yourselves, you cowards!!

[ there's like - this weird sound somewhere between a laugh and a mysterious monster groan, because sometimes staying in character? is hard?

anyway there's a thud as something hits the table and falls to the floor. ]

[ she blinks and whirls in the direction of the thud ]

What was that? Are you okay?

[ is that something on the floor? Hmm! Leans down to squint at it ]

[ there is a large, unmoving lump on the floor. it’s too dark to tell what it is from this distance, though.

investigate? ]

[ psh, uh, YEAH!!!

Mabel approaches the lump and gives it a gentle nudge with her foot. ]
