seasonality ✦ week 5, thursday 👻
[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.
it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:
enter if you dare.
(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

the call about her shoes goes unheeded, except for the part where whatever the Thing is that keeps skittering around doesn't directly tread on them. because they're polite, spooky things like that. there is a clawing, scraping noise, followed by a miserable yowling of a creature of the night.
what fog obscured the floor now seems to be increasing in a new wave, but there's a dark shape that darts across the path. ]

she heads to wherever the fog's coming from. there's a dark shape but she can't catch it??? so she'll just see if their fog machine is nice and expensive. this means she'll either open a door or sweep apart a curtain to figure out the Mysteries]

a cold hand (?) brushes her neck when she tries to pull back the curtains. stop that.
(it's a really impressive, but admittedly build your own, fog machine. there's those black, ribbed tubing coming out of the setup in place, extending with holes drilled into them to let the fog seep out into the entire shack.) ]

Oooh, very nice.
[the cold hand(?) on her heck..... it kind of feels like home........... iris and ichiro love maid cafes and manwol apparently loves haunted spooky houses.
she looks at the fog machine. she can tell that it's impressive and that someone built it. she can't tell anything else about it and she's not about to damage it or turn it off, so she'll close the curtain.
...she'll leave it open a fraction because sometimes seeing a curtain that's not all the way closed creeps some people out. also what in the fck touched her neck, was it a hand or like jello]

there's a, like, sigh from somewhere? hard to tell whether it's part of the whole shtick or just a winter scarer watching this happen. it's fine. nothing pulls the curtain shut the rest of the way, and the dim, flashy lighting makes it look spookier. thanks, boss.

the creaking footsteps lead to... a dead end! oh no! the dying, wailing noise of someone in misery comes, followed by terrible laughter that echoes and fractures. the maze has brought her to a terrible fate!
