[ on thursday morning, there are strange signs (except... they’re all misspelled? who did this?) pointing everyone in the direction of winter dorm. follow, and you’ll find that they lead not to the dorm itself (whose doors remain closed and locked), but around the corner of the dorm, where a nice little shack awaits.

it looks quite normal, if you ignore the torn curtains in the windows, and the way the lights flicker from inside. and there’s an odd lack of… well, anyone, as guests approach - though you may see movement out of the corner of your eyes - was there something there? you must have imagined it, because you’re definitely hearing things. the door to the shack gives a loud creak as it opens, all on its own, fog spilling out to pool around your feet. the dim lights within illuminate a nearby sign that reads:

enter if you dare.

(it's not a culture festival without a haunted house! if you’ve ever wanted to be jumpscared by all of winter dorm, now’s your chance!) ]

[well the denji-ghost definitely wasn't expecting a real, actual fireball to get mario'd at him so it hits him square in the chest and immediately sets the sheet alight]

H-huh???

[confused and lacking in proper fire safety knowledge, denji continues to run directly in rita's direction—the chainsaw is still on]

[normally a fireball makes things stop attacking!!?!? and she only had one to throw!!

so now she's just stumbling back]

N-no! Get away!! AAHHH!!!

[sawboned]

[the sheetghost, now a raging fireghost, barrels past where rita is and directly towards the moat, where it dives in, dropping the chainsaw along the way, which shuts off]

[once he's run past her, rita gets her wits about her again.]

... Idiot!!

[she'll follow to see where he ended up. hopefully he's not dying?]

[there's some bubbling, and the sheet floats to the surface

a moment of stillness, then]

BWUH!

[denji bursts out of the water, soaking wet but seemingly no worse for wear otherwise]

Damn, how'd I catch on fire? Could hardly see in that thing.

[she waits until she can see he's okay, and then]

That's what you get for messing with me!

I wasn't messin' with you! It was part of the haunted house! I was a chainsaw ghost!

[he's just sitting in the moat for now, chillin with the frogs]
